MEN DON'T SEE THE NEED TO DO HOUSEWORK. JUST LIKE HOUSEWORK MEN PUSH COOKING TO A WOMAN'S JOB. LOT'S OF WOMEN THINK THAT MEN SHOULD DO THEIR SHARE. MEN USUALLY COME HOME FROM WORK AND THEIRS FOOD ON THE TABLE SO THEY SEE THAT THEIR IS NO WORK TO BE DONE. at this time women my be more stressed and have more work which is especially hard when raising kids as well. EVEN THOUGH MEN DON'T COOK THE MAN IS USUALLY THE GRILLER IN THE FAMILY. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMETIMES MAYBE THE WOMEN WANT TO DO SOME GRILLING TOO. MEN LIKE TO DO GRILLING FOR DIFFERENT REASONS. THOSE REASONS ARE: BECAUSE IT IS EXCITING, BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO HANG OUT WITH OTHER GUYS, BECAUSE IT INVOLVES NOT A LOT OF CLEANING, AND BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT THEY GET TO USE TOOLS.

MEN PROBABLY DON'T COOK OR DON'T DO HOUSE WORK BECAUSE THEY DON'T SEE THE NEED IF THE WOMAN IS USUALLY DOING IT. THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T DO IT COULD ALSO BE THAT THEY MIGHT NOT HAVE THE SKILL. SOMETHING THAT THE WOMAN COULD DO IN THIS SITUATION COULD BE TEACHING THE MAN TO COOK OR DO HOUSE WORK SUCH AS TAKING OUT TRASH, DOING LAUNDRY, OR DOING DISHES. THE FACT THAT MEN DON'T COOK OR DO HOUSE WORK CAN VARY THROUGHOUT HOUSEHOLDS, COUNTRIES, OR CULTURES.

COOKING IN MAYANA, NAMIBIA

Recently visitor came and he is from Mayana, Namiba. For the exhibition we were allowed to ask questions. Obviously I asked about cooking. He answered that in Mayana only women cook, surprise (not really), he also said that at the age of three, children cooked with there mothers and at the age of five they cooked on open fires. Some of the things that he said that they cooked in mayana is an oatmeal dish that they usually added fish or steak to it. they would cook with wooden spoons and sticks. So just like in america, at least to my knowladge, women usually do most of the cooking.
